Don’t just leave them in the chest of drawers or box get them out and send them to Lkg Quilts. You can keep your tee shirts and enjoy them at the same time!
This Traditional Tee Shirt Quilt was made with eighteen tee shirts and a child’s lightweight jacket. All were purchased to support his favorite driver. Since they were his favorite driver we had a hard time convincing him that we wanted to cut them up. Needless to say he was delighted to have such a quilt to put on his bed and enjoy now and many years to come.
The beginning of a tee shirt quilt is when we receive your tee shirts. Each shirt should be marked with a safety pen on the side you would like to use in your quilt. The shirts are split open and the picture you want to keep is stabilized and cut into a fifteen inch square.
The squares are sewed together and a border is added to the outside edge of all the squares. This step encloses the squares. A coordinating color is than chosen to complete the binding on the quilt.
Quilting on a Traditional quilt is done with a pantograph pattern. This is one quilt pattern is used from the top to the bottom of the quilt. Quilting with a pantograph pattern helps the quilt durability in wear and tear. Check out the quilt patterns offered on our wed site under Traditional Tee Shirt Quilts. Which one would you like in your NASCAR Tee Shirt Quilt?
